Canada Royal Legion Poster Contest and Strong Art School

Strong Art School has been taking part in the Canada Royal Legion Poster Contest since 2012. There are two students, Strong Duan and Emily Yu, submitted their art works in 2012.  Besides both Strong and Emily won the provincial first place. Emily won the national first place. It was the first time Ms. Tang gave students competition advice in Canada since the art school was open in 2009.

In 2013, Shuke Amelia Jiang won the National second place and provincial first place of Junior color poster. It was a regret two students' posters with great potential to win were disqualified because of not filling the branches' number and address in the application form. Emily Yu, as a former student, won the provincial second place of senior color poster.

There was a bigger win in 2014. we have Shuke Amelia Jiang, the provincial second place of Intermediate color poster; Strong Duan, Yang Qin (Jessica) Hu and Meilin Li, all the provincial first place in three categories.  At the same time, Strong and Meilin were also the winners at national level. Strong got the national honorable mention of senior color poster; Meilin was the national second place of junior black and white poster.
We didn't take part in the contest in 2015. Every body needs a break😇
Several students were trying to join the contest last year. As you can see from my previous post, the achievements of our students are amazing! Five students won the provincial first place in eight categories. three of them won national second place and one of them won national honorable mention (third place).
The Legion encourages schools to have their students take part in the longstanding tradition of the annual Poster and Literary Contests. Canadian school children participate by submitting art and poetry that convey their own unique ideas of Remembrance. Every year, the participants are around 100,000. If your children are interested in this contest, you are welcome to our school to talk to Ms. Tang. The artist will teach you the skill from basic to advance to represent your creative ideas on paper. You might be the next winner in this poster contest.
